The Nigerian entertainment industry and the nation at large are celebrating the safe return of Adeola, daughter of veteran Nollywood actress Jumoke George, after four years of uncertainty. Adeola, who had been missing since 2021, was found and rescued from Mali, where she had reportedly been trafficked.
The Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), led by Abike Dabiri-Erewa, facilitated Adeola’s return to Nigeria. She was received in Lagos by Dabiri-Erewa alongside Nollywood stars Biola Adebayo and Adeniyi Johnson, who played key roles in amplifying Jumoke George’s plea for help.
Jumoke George had previously spoken out about her daughter’s disappearance in an emotional interview, revealing the distress and hardship she endured during the years of separation. Her story gained widespread attention, prompting swift action from authorities and concerned individuals.
Adeola’s return marks a significant victory in the fight against human trafficking, highlighting the importance of vigilance and intervention in protecting vulnerable individuals. NIDCOM has assured continued efforts to support victims of trafficking and reunite families torn apart by such incidents.
