Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has called on President Bola Tinubu to caution the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, warning that his actions could spark a crisis in the state.

Speaking to journalists at the Government House in Osogbo, Adeleke accused Oyetola of colluding with security chiefs to enforce a non-existent court order aimed at reinstating sacked local government chairmen, contrary to the law.

The governor warned that if Oyetola was not restrained, the people might be forced to defend themselves against any unlawful imposition.

“I urge Mr. President to direct the National Security Adviser and the Attorney General of the Federation to verify that the Court of Appeal did not reinstate the dismissed local government chairmen and councilors. There is also a subsisting court judgment that removed them following the 2022 local government elections,” Adeleke stated.

He further criticized security chiefs in Osun for allegedly taking directives from Oyetola, whom he described as leveraging his familial ties to the president.

“As much as we are committed to maintaining peace, we appeal to men and women of goodwill to intervene before matters escalate,” Adeleke added.
