The Super Eagles of Nigeria on Monday avenged their first-leg defeat to Guinea-Bissau as they pipped the Djurtus 1-0 in front of their home fans 72 hours after the embarrassing defeat at the MKO Abiola Stadium in Abuja.
Moses Simon proved to be the difference maker as he stepped up in the 30th minute to convert from the spot after right-back Samuel Osayi was brought down after a surging run inside the box of the hosts.
The victory take the Eagles back on top of the table with 9 points and will hope to avoid a repeat of the shocking result against the wild dogs in the first leg.
