After 40 years in utter darkness, residents of Adafila town in the Oriire Local Government area of Oyo State are now enjoying 24-hour uninterrupted power supply.

The newfound stability in power provision has prompted people from neighbouring towns and villages to migrate to this agrarian community.

The power supply was made possible by Havenhill Synergy Limited who executed a 90 KWP project, providing ample power for the approximately 500 houses in the community, meeting both commercial and domestic needs.

During an inspection and impact assessment of the solar hybrid mini-grid project, the Minister of Power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu emphasized the transformative impact of the 90KwP solar hybrid mini-grid, stating, “With the delivery of this 90KwP solar hybrid mini-grid, the industrious people of Oyo state and the people of Adafila community have received another lifeline to improve upon their contribution to national development through locally-driven socio-economic growth.”

A beneficiary, Alhaji AbdulFatai Balelayo, attested to the efficacy of the solar system, describing it as ten times better than regular electricity.

“We have never had light for more than 40 years“, he remarked.
