Arsenal picked up a point in a 1-1 draw against a resilient Fulham side at Craven Cottage on Sunday in the Premier League. The result moves Mikel Arteta’s team into second place, six points behind leaders Liverpool, who have a game in hand after the Merseyside derby was postponed on Saturday.

Following Manchester City’s 2-2 draw with Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Saturday, Arsenal had the chance to close the gap at the top to four points and open up a three-point lead over Pep Guardiola’s side.

Fulham took the lead in the 11th minute when Kenny Tete’s precise through-ball found Raul Jimenez, who calmly finished past David Raya. However, Arsenal equalized seven minutes into the second half. A Kai Havertz header from a corner fell perfectly for William Saliba to tap in and make it 1-1.

Late in the game, Bukayo Saka thought he had scored the winner, but his goal was ruled out for offside after Gabriel Martinelli had strayed beyond the last defender before providing the assist. Despite dominating possession, Arsenal failed to find a decisive goal, leaving Arteta frustrated with what feels like two points dropped in the title race.

Elsewhere, Chelsea are set to face London rivals Tottenham Hotspur at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, hoping to cut into the lead held by Arne Slot’s Spurs at the top of the table.
