Arsenal Football Club has announced the signing of 22-year-old Italian international defender Riccardo Calafiori from Serie A side Bologna on a long-term contract.

Calafiori, who was part of Italy’s squad at Euro 2024, joins Arsenal after an impressive season with Bologna, where he played a crucial role in their top-five finish and Champions League qualification.

With a strong background in Italian football, Calafiori developed his skills at Roma’s youth academy before gaining experience on loan at Genoa and later moving to Basel.

His standout performances earned him a return to Italy with Bologna in 2023, where he excelled and won individual honors.

Arsenal’s leadership praised the signing, highlighting Calafiori’s quality, experience, and fit with the team’s profile.

He will wear the number 33 shirt and has joined the team in Philadelphia for pre-season preparations.

This signing reinforces Arsenal’s defense and strengthens their pursuit of major trophies, with Calafiori’s skills and character expected to make a significant impact.
