Asake’s former manager, Tunde Phoenix, has publicly criticized the singer after a man claiming to be Asake’s father, Fatai Odunsi, accused him of neglect amid his battle with a stroke.

Odunsi, who says he last saw Asake in March 2022, has made a desperate plea for financial assistance to cover his medical expenses. However, Asake has yet to respond publicly to the claims.

In response, Phoenix took to social media to express his disappointment, condemning Asake’s alleged inaction. He revealed plans to meet with Odunsi to better understand the situation and announced his intention to launch a GoFundMe campaign to support the ailing man’s treatment.

Sharing a series of passionate posts, Phoenix wrote:

“One by one, God will reveal who they truly are. These are no longer my words. Go and pick up your father. We don’t care if he left when you were a child. In fact, I believe that man over anything you might say.”

“If you don’t, we will take on your responsibilities for you and conduct a full interview with him to reveal the truth the public deserves to know.”

“You are a public figure. Get a PR girl to put a statement together—or I will. P.S.: PR girl is a vibe. I’d definitely date her; she has a good heart but keeps bad company.”

“Operation GoFundMe for your father. Please help us locate the old man. His son refuses to listen and abandons those who once helped him.”

“Even if they left you, should you act like them when God has blessed you beyond your wildest dreams? A man’s heart reveals everything. Please, let’s find this father and get him the help he needs. These children have audacity.”

Asake has yet to issue a statement addressing the allegations.
