Manchester City suffered a 2-1 defeat to Aston Villa at Villa Park on Saturday, December 21, 2024. The match commenced at 4:30 AM PST (12:30 PM GMT).

Aston Villa opened the scoring in the 16th minute when Jhon Durán capitalized on a pass from Morgan Rogers, placing the ball past Manchester City’s goalkeeper, Stefan Ortega.

Manchester City made a substitution at halftime, with Kyle Walker replacing John Stones.

In the 65th minute, Villa extended their lead to 2-0. John McGinn delivered a precise assist to Morgan Rogers, who secured the goal.

Manchester City managed to pull one back in the 93rd minute, with Phil Foden scoring a goal.

This defeat marks Manchester City’s eighth loss in their last 11 matches across all competitions, raising concerns about their title defense.
