TunesBid Limited, a Nigerian Record Label and Management Company, has issued a press release to clarify ongoing issues regarding an exclusive recording agreement with artiste Mafoloku Ayorinde, popularly known as AYoMaff.

The Exclusive Agreement and Initial SuccessOn December 2, 2023, TunesBid Limited entered into an exclusive recording agreement with AYoMaff and his management team, comprising Oyefeso Oluwamayowa Olumide, Okolie Arnold Chiedu, and Oyefeso Ayotunde, representing OceanStreet Creative Limited.

Under the terms of this agreement, AYoMaff was committed to delivering a specific number of Extended Play (EPs) and Long Play (LP) albums.

TunesBid Limited invested significant financial and other resources to promote AYoMaff’s music and brand. This commitment led to the release of singles such as “Street Anthem,” “7 Days,” and “Dealer,” all fully financed by TunesBid within the first five months of the agreement.

Through these efforts, TunesBid actively promoted the AYoMaff brand, significantly elevating his presence in the Nigerian music industry within six months.

This success also attracted international distribution companies, including Empire Distribution, which subsequently offered to distribute two EPs for the Artiste, with an option for an LP album, and an upfront payment to TunesBid Limited.

However, TunesBid Limited alleges that unbeknownst to them, AYoMaff and his management—specifically Oyefeso Oluwamayowa Olumide, Okolie Arnold Chiedu, and Oyefeso Ayotunde—cunningly conspired to deceive and defraud the Label.

It is claimed that they had no intention of honoring the agreement. In what TunesBid describes as a “swift unravelling of their true fraudulent intents,” the artiste and his management allegedly refused to sign the music distribution contract after holding separate meetings with Empire Distribution representatives.

Furthermore, it is stated that TunesBid financed the recording of songs meant for release under the Extended Play project with Empire Distribution. Yet, as soon as the recordings were completed, AYoMaff and his management are accused of exiting the Label premises without informing TunesBid or submitting the recorded songs. Oyefeso Oluwamayowa Olumide, identified as the key man for the Management team, is cited for blocking all communication channels with the Label.

Their disregard for the contract, which they had initially eagerly entered, culminated in letters dated May 17, 2024, and May 30, 2024, from the artiste and his management, expressing their intent to breach the contract less than six months after signing.

TunesBid Limited, through its legal team, Zaeda Oracle, has rejected these attempts to violate the agreement and refuted the false claims made by the artiste and his management.

TunesBid Limited made several attempts through mediation and formal communications to resolve the contract breach amicably. However, it became evident that neither AYoMaff nor his management had any interest in a peaceful resolution.

Consequently, TunesBid Limited has instructed its legal team, led by Zaeda Oracle, to explore legal avenues to address this “blatant breach of contract.”The Label emphasizes that AYoMaff is still bound by an existing contract with TunesBid Limited, and any representation to the contrary is deemed invalid and false.

TunesBid further warns any individual or entity entering into a contractual, commercial, or collaborative agreement/contract/partnership with AYoMaff or OceanStreet Creative Limited (who are paralleling as the Management of the Artiste), without the express permission or approval of TunesBid Limited, will do so at their own risk and face legal action.

The company specifically advises show promoters and entertainment companies previously or currently organizing any Artiste Tours, shows, or events without permission—including RoadMan Ent., Make Da Melalin Group, AfroVibes Sheffield Ent., and 1XMedia Ent., among others—to immediately desist from such illegal associations or face legal action from TunesBid Limited.
