Barcelona has secured the services of Polish international goalkeeper Wojciech Szczęsny on a one-year deal, pending a medical examination.
Szczęsny, 34, had recently announced his retirement but reversed his decision following Marc-André ter Stegen’s injury.
Ter Stegen suffered a ruptured patella tendon in Barcelona’s La Liga match against Villarreal and will miss the remainder of the season after undergoing surgery.
Renowned journalist Fabrizio Romano confirmed Szczęsny’s signing, which addresses Barcelona’s goalkeeping concerns. Szczęsny is expected to start, with Iñaki Peña serving as backup.
