Ugandan musician Bebe Cool has addressed allegations that he facilitated the arrest of Nigerian singers Tems and Omah Lay in Uganda in 2020.

The two artists were detained for performing at a concert that violated COVID-19 regulations.

In a recent interview, Bebe Cool denied any involvement in their arrest, stating that he was actually instrumental in advocating for their release. He recalled receiving a call about their arrest and subsequently making phone calls to authorities to intervene on their behalf.

Bebe Cool attributed the allegations against him to a misunderstanding with the show promoter, who was also arrested. He claimed that his efforts to secure the release of Tems and Omah Lay were misinterpreted by the promoter, leading to the false accusations.
