The entertainment industry is mourning the loss of retired actress Dalyce Curry, who passed away in the devastating Los Angeles wildfires. Curry, 95, was known for her memorable roles in films such as The Blues Brothers, The Ten Commandments, and Lady Sings the Blues.

According to reports, Curry’s remains were found at her burned-down home in Altadena, California. Her family had been searching for her since January 7, when her great-granddaughter, Dalyce Kelley, last saw her.

Kelley took to social media to share the heartbreaking news, confirming that the coroner had identified Curry’s remains. “We had a great run. She impacted my life in so many ways. This loss is devastating,” Kelley wrote.

Curry’s family described her as an active and vibrant person, despite her advanced age. Her granddaughter, Loree Beamer-Wilkinson, said, “You wouldn’t think she was 95.”

Curry’s death is one of at least 24 fatalities reported in the Los Angeles area due to the wildfires.
