Beyoncé Donates $2.5 Million To Los Angeles Wildfire Relief Efforts

Pop superstar Beyoncé has donated $2.5 million to aid the rebuilding of Los Angeles after the devastating wildfires that struck California last week.

The wildfires, which began on January 7th, are still not fully contained and have caused widespread destruction in Los Angeles. According to the County of Los Angeles Department of Medical Examiner, 24 people have died, and over 12,000 structures have been destroyed across 40,000 acres. Several high-profile figures, including Mel Gibson, Mandy Moore, Anthony Hopkins, and Paris Hilton, have also lost their homes.

Beyoncé’s donation, made through her BeyGOOD charitable foundation, is directed to the newly formed LA Fire Relief Fund. The fund aims to assist families in the Altadena/Pasadena area who lost their homes and provide support to local churches and community centers for immediate relief.

The singer, who founded BeyGOOD in 2013, has used the foundation to provide resources to marginalized communities and areas in urgent need of help.

Beyoncé’s contribution follows a $1 million pledge from actress Jamie Lee Curtis, who also donated to support the firefighting efforts in Los Angeles. Curtis, who resides in the Pacific Palisades area, made her donation on January 9th through her family foundation, stating that the funds would help support the community as they battle the ongoing crisis.
