Actress Biola Adebayo has revealed that N15 million has been raised for veteran actress Olayinka Adebanjo, who recently sought public assistance for surrogacy after losing her only child at age 28. She also confirmed that the procedure would begin immediately.

In January, Olayinka made an emotional appeal on the Talk To B podcast, expressing her desire to become a mother again following the tragic loss of her son, Adeniyi Ishola, a 28-year-old nurse who collapsed and died while playing football. She shared her struggles, revealing that while she had considered adoption, she ultimately wished to have her own child.

“I have seen a lot after the loss of my son. Some people have even mocked me, calling me barren in my old age,” she tearfully stated.

A veteran in Yoruba cinema since 1983, Olayinka disclosed that she had already spent a significant amount on medical tests at an adoption center in Abeokuta but remained determined to explore other medical options.

During the podcast, Biola Bayo suggested surrogacy as a viable alternative, estimating the cost at N15 to N20 million.

Providing an update on Instagram on Thursday, Biola announced that not only has the required amount been almost fully raised, but a fertility hospital has also stepped in to support the process.

“We have raised about N15m for Aunty Yinka’s surrogacy already. The best news is that one of the top surrogacy specialists in Nigeria, @the_fertility_doctor, has agreed to help us with the process,” she wrote.

According to Biola, the hospital has significantly reduced its charges, covering a large portion of the costs, allowing Olayinka to use the remaining funds to start a business.

She urged well-wishers to continue supporting and praying for the veteran actress, expressing gratitude to everyone who contributed to the cause.
