Borussia Dortmund is delighted to announce the signing of highly talented midfielder Jobe Bellingham from Sunderland in a landmark transfer agreement. The deal, finalized ahead of the early-summer transfer deadline, sees the 19-year-old move to Signal Iduna Park for a fixed fee of €33 million, with an additional €5 million in performance-based add-on.

Bellingham, who played a pivotal role in Sunderland’s promotion to the Premier League last season, will join Dortmund on a five-year contract. As part of the agreement, Sunderland has secured a 15% sell-on clause, ensuring future financial benefits should Bellingham be transferred again.

Borussia Dortmund officials prioritized completing the deal before the deadline to allow Bellingham’s inclusion in the Club World Cup squad, set to compete in the United States next week. His arrival strengthens Dortmund’s midfield options and continues the club’s tradition of developing young, dynamic talent.
