The Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja has assured Nigerian Doctors abroad willing to return to the country that the Nigerian Army is ready to receive and employ them into its military hospitals.

Lieutenant General Lagbaja gave this assurance while receiving Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, the Chairman/CEO of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM) and her delegation of top management staff at Army Headquarters, Abuja.

According to a statement from NIDCOM’s spokesperson, Abdur-Rahman Balogun, the Chief of Army Staff said the army will collaborate fully with NIDCOM to achieve its efforts of bringing back home the best brains from the diaspora to help develop various sectors in the country.

The Army chief said that having been in the diaspora before now, he noticed that Nigerian doctors are the best in the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada and South Africa, adding that the army under his command will be willing to employ them if they return home, thus reducing the menace of brain drain.
