Ondo State governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has nominated a former Deputy Clerk of the National Assembly, Chief Olayide Owolabi Adelami, as the deputy governor of the state.

The nomination of Adelami is coming barely six hours after the state governor dissolved the State Executive Council on Wednesday.

In a statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Ebenezer Adeniyan, the nomination of Owolabi Adelami has been transmitted to the state House of Assembly for approval.

The nomination is to fill the role of deputy governor of the state, which has been vacant since December 27, 2023, when Lucky Aiyedatiwa replaced former governor Rotimi Akeredolu, following the death of the latter.
