Liz Sanya, a talented British-Nigerian designer, has made headlines by creating the largest sandal in the world. The impressive feat was achieved between January 2 and 4, 2025, at Pixel Park in Lekki, Lagos, with many supporters gathering to witness the attempt.
Upon completing the massive sandal, Sanya confidently stated that believing in her comes at no cost, but doubting her would have its price. Her fans and friends were thrilled with her achievement, praising her for her innovative spirit and dedication.
Sanya’s record-breaking attempt is not an isolated incident, as several Nigerians have successfully broken Guinness World Records in various fields. Notably, celebrity chef Hilda Baci set the record for the longest cooking marathon by an individual in May 2023. Wig maker Helen Williams also achieved recognition for creating the longest handmade wig and most hair clips in a wig in 30 seconds.
Additionally, art student Chancellor Ahaghotu broke a decade-old record for the longest painting marathon, painting for 100 consecutive hours in January 2024.
Chess master Tunde Onakoya also made history by playing the longest-hour chess game, remaining unbeaten for over 58 hours at Times Square in New York City in April 2024. These achievements showcase the talent and determination of Nigerian individuals, inspiring others to strive for excellence and push beyond boundaries.
