In a groundbreaking achievement, Burna Boy has become the first Nigerian artist to have two albums cross the 1 billion streams mark on Spotify.

The Grammy-winning megastar reached this milestone as his acclaimed 2019 album, African Giant, surpassed 1 billion streams, joining his sixth studio album, Love, Damini, which has already garnered 1.3 billion streams.

Released in 2019, African Giant solidified Burna Boy’s global presence, producing hit tracks like “On The Low” and “Gbona,” both of which have since achieved platinum status in France.

The album came on the heels of his viral success with “YE” from his 2018 album, Outside, and helped establish Burna Boy as a powerful force in Afrobeats, leading Africa’s charge on the world music stage.
