Burna Boy breaks record for the Highest-Grossing tour by an African Artiste

Burna Boy, a Nigerian music sensation and Grammy award winner, has made history by achieving the highest-grossing tour by an African artist. His “I Told Them” tour has generated an impressive $15.5 million in revenue from 15 shows, with six additional concerts still to be included.

Burna Boy’s concert at the Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C. on March 7, 2024, set a new record for the highest-grossing arena concert by an African artist in the United States, with a revenue of $1.725 million.

This surpasses his previous record at TD Garden in Boston. Additionally, his concert at the Hard Rock Live in Hollywood on March 12, 2024, had an average ticket price of $172.76, making it the most expensive concert by an African artist in history.

The Canadian leg of his tour also achieved remarkable success, grossing $5.7 million from six shows, the highest for an African artist.

According to Touring Data, the tour has generated $15,469,395 in revenue, with an average of $1,031,293 per show. A total of 156,646 tickets were sold, with an average price of $98.75.

This achievement solidifies Burna Boy’s position as a leading African artist, breaking records and pushing boundaries in the music industry.

His success serves as an inspiration to other African artists, demonstrating the potential for global recognition and acclaim.
