Burna Boy returns empty handed from BET Hip-Hop Awards, loses in 7 nominations

Grammy winning artiste Burna Boy has failed to win a single prize at the 2023 BET Hip-Hop awards, despite being nominated in 7 categories.

Burna Boy had been tipped to shine at the ceremony due to his large portfolio of nominations, but however lost out in all 7 nominations.

The categories he was nominated for were:

Hip-Hop Artiste of the Year; Song of the Year; Best Hip-Hop video; Best Collaboration; Best Liver Performer; Lyricist of the Year; and Hustler of the Year.

Meanwhile, Ghanaian sensation, Mohammed Ismail Sherif Kwaku Frimpong popularly known as Black Sherif won the BET Hip Hop Award for Best International Flow.

Black Sherif is Ghana’s second International Flow category winner following Sarkodie‘s win in 2019.

The 2023 BET Hip Hop Awards was recorded in Atlanta, USA on Tuesday, October 3, and will be shown live on October 10.
