Bwala: “Peter Obi Will Join APC, Labour Party Is Emptying Out”

Daniel Bwala, Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Policy Communication, has claimed that Peter Obi will soon join the All Progressives Congress (APC).

During an interview on TVC, Bwala stated that the APC is attracting key figures from the opposition, including members of the Labour Party (LP).

“Do you know we are emptying the Labour Party? It’s not because we go and ask them to come; they are coming. Valentine Ozigbo has joined us. Balami has joined us. Even Peter Obi will join us.”

Bwala argued that Obi would not contest the 2027 election under LP, suggesting that any coalition he might join would struggle with internal divisions.

Citing Valentine Ozigbo and Isaac Balami as examples of recent defections, Bwala insisted that more opposition figures, including Obi, will eventually move to APC.

His remarks have sparked speculation, though neither Peter Obi nor the Labour Party has responded to his claims.
