CAF Announces 2024 Men’s Player of the Year Nominees

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has revealed its 10 nominees for the 2024 Men’s Player of the Year award. Nigeria’s Ademola Lookman and William Troost-Ekong are among the contenders.

Ademola Lookman’s notable achievements include a hat-trick in Atalanta’s UEFA Europa League final win and scoring three goals in seven appearances at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.

William Troost-Ekong was named the best player at the 2023 AFCON, scoring three goals and leading Nigeria to a second-place finish.

Other nominees include:

1. Simon Adingra (Cote d’Ivoire)

2. Achraf Hakimi (Morocco)

3. Amine Gouri (Algeria)

4. Edmond Tapsoba (Burkina Faso)

5. Chancel Mbemba (Congo)

6. Soufiane Rahimi (Morocco)

7. Ronwen Williams (South Africa)

8. Serhou Guirassy (Guinea)

The CAF Awards ceremony is scheduled for December 16 in Marrakech, Morocco.
