Musicians Celine Dion, Dua Lipa, and Aya Nakamura are set to perform live at the 2024 Paris Olympics, which will take place in Paris, France, from Friday, July 26, to Sunday, August 11, 2024.
Musical performances by celebrities have become a beloved tradition at the Olympics, starting in the 20th century, with the first performance dating back to 1896 in Athens, Greece. This year, Celine Dion, Dua Lipa, and Aya Nakamura will continue this tradition by gracing the Olympic stage with their performances.
Adding to the excitement, Jin, a member of the popular South Korean boy band BTS, will be one of the torchbearers for the 2024 Paris Olympics.
For the first time in the competition’s history, this year’s opening ceremony, directed by Thomas Jolly, will be held outside an Olympic stadium. The ceremony is expected to attract about six hundred thousand spectators and will be broadcast on 80 giant screens in public areas.
The 1750-capacity hall, which opened in 1968, has served as a tour stop for various legends, including Adele, Lady Gaga, and the Rolling Stones.
