Newly signed Chelsea defender Tosin Adarabioyo made a high-profile appearance in Lagos as he visited the Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, at the State House.
He came ahead of a youth football tournament being held in his honour on Wednesday at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena.
The Nigeria-born footballer, who is currently in the country as part of his homecoming tour, met with the governor in Lagos.
The visit, which comes shortly after his big move to Stamford Bridge, was described as a “courtesy call” and a celebration of Nigerian talent rising on the global stage.
Governor Sanwo-Olu commended Tosin for making Nigeria proud and expressed hope that the footballer would inspire more youth across the country.
Adarabioyo was part of the Chelsea team that recently clinched the FIFA Club World Cup title with a commanding 3-0 victory over Paris Saint-Germain.
