Chelsea staged a dramatic two-goal comeback to defeat Tottenham Hotspur 4-3 in a thrilling London derby, with Cole Palmer delivering an outstanding performance.
The Blues endured a disastrous start, falling 2-0 behind within 11 minutes. Former Chelsea forward Dominic Solanke opened the scoring for Spurs, and Dejan Kulusevski doubled the lead with a low strike past Robert Sanchez.
Chelsea responded swiftly through Jadon Sancho, who struck a sensational goal in the 18th minute, cutting the deficit and setting the stage for a tense second half.
After halftime, Chelsea showed their resilience. Moises Caicedo won a penalty when fouled by Yves Bissouma, and Palmer calmly converted to level the score. The Blues then surged ahead as Enzo Fernandez capitalized on a deflected Palmer shot to make it 3-2.
Palmer added his second of the night with another penalty after being fouled by Pape Matar Sarr, sealing Chelsea’s victory. Although Son Heung-min scored a late consolation goal for Spurs, it wasn’t enough to deny the visitors.
The victory moves Chelsea two points above Arsenal into second place in the Premier League, four points behind leaders Liverpool. Palmer’s brace and his influence in midfield were instrumental in the comeback, cementing his status as a key player for the Blues.
