There is a bizarre and strange twist in the Nigerian political scene as both the ruling All Progressives Congress APC and the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, have included the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike as a member of their campaign council for the November 11 Bayelsa State governorship election.

The APC’s campaign council was released on Tuesday by Sulaiman Argungu, the party’s National Organising Secretary.

Wike’s name was number 6 in the 123-member campaign council that is led by Muhammed Inuwa Yahaya, the Gombe State Governor.

Also in the PDP list, Wike was listed as number 12 in the 72-member campaign council led by Kefas Agbu, the Taraba state governor.

Nyesom Wike who played a key role in the election victory of President Bola Tinubu is still a member of the PDP, although he serves in an APC-led federal government. With the development, political observers are on the lookout to see where Wike will pitch his political tent in the forthcoming elections.
