The Federal High Court in Lagos has ordered the final forfeiture of $4.7 million, N830 million, and multiple properties linked to former Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor, Godwin Emefiele.

Justice Yellim Bogoro granted the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission’s (EFCC) request for forfeiture on Friday, ruling that the funds and assets were proceeds of unlawful activities.

The forfeited funds were held in accounts with First Bank, Titan Bank, and Zenith Bank under various individuals and entities, while the affected properties include luxury estates and office buildings across Lagos and a property in Texas, USA.

The ruling follows the court’s previous interim forfeiture order, which was made permanent after no valid claims were presented to justify the ownership of the funds and assets.
