Inter Milan is delighted to announce the appointment of Cristian Chivu as the club’s new manager, signing a two-year contract that will run until June 30, 2027. The former Nerazzurri defender steps into the role following the departure of Simone Inzaghi, bringing his expertise and deep connection to the club to the managerial position.
Chivu, who previously managed Parma, emerged as Inter’s top choice after the club’s pursuit of Cesc Fabregas fell through. The Romanian tactician has a rich history with Inter, having played a crucial role in the club’s historic treble-winning season in 2009-10. His return marks a new chapter for the Nerazzurri as they prepare for upcoming challenges, including the Club World Cup this summer.
Inter Milan CEO Piero Ausilio expressed confidence in Chivu’s ability to lead the team, stating, “Cristian understands the DNA of this club. His leadership and tactical acumen make him the perfect choice to guide Inter forward.”
