Croatia 2 v 2 Albania: Albania’s 96th minute goal silences Croatia in their first Euro match

In their first game at Euro 2024, Albania scored the fastest goal ever of the tournament, but Italy would quickly storm back and then see out a 2-1 victory.

In their second game at Euro 2024, Albania once again scored early, this time waiting all the way until the 10th minute!

And this time, they would be able to hang on to that lead well into the second half … only to then see Croatia score twice in three minutes to turn things around.

But just when it looked like they would suffer another narrow defeat, the Red And Blacks found their equalizer in stoppage time to record a famous point, just their fourth ever in any major tournament.

Qazim Laçi and Klaus Gjasula scored the goals for Albania, sandwiching a strike from Andrej Kramarić and an unfortunate own goal from Gjasula himself.

The veteran Darmstadt midfielder, with his first ever international goal at age 34, becomes the second player in tournament history to score at both ends in one game, and the first substitute to do so.

Unfortunately, Armando Broja did not feature in the game, even with his team looking for a goal late on, after playing 77 minutes in their first game four days ago.

Albania will face Spain in their final group game, while Croatia will take on Italy. All teams remain in contention for a spot in the knockout rounds.
