Robert Ewa, the Commissioner for Tourism, Arts, and Culture in Cross River State, has passed away. He died on the evening of Wednesday, January 8, at the Arubah Specialist Hospital in Calabar, shortly after attending a state executive council meeting.
According to a report by Channels TV, members of the Cross River State Executive Council and aides of Governor Bassey Otu were gathered at the hospital to console Ewa’s family.
Before his appointment as commissioner, Ewa served as Secretary and later Chairman of the Boki Local Government Council. He also held positions as Special Adviser on Community Relations and Secretary of the Anti-Deforestation Task Force.
At the time of this report, the state government had not released an official statement regarding his death.
