Delta Air Lines is offering $30,000 to each passenger of Flight 4819, which crash-landed and flipped upside down at Toronto Pearson International Airport on February 17, 2025. This compensation comes with no conditions, allowing passengers to accept the payment without waiving any legal rights.

The incident involved a Bombardier CRJ 900 aircraft operated by Endeavor Air, a Delta subsidiary, flying from Minneapolis to Toronto. Upon landing amidst harsh winter conditions, the plane skidded, overturned, and caught fire. All 80 individuals on board, including four crew members, survived; however, 21 passengers were hospitalized, with one remaining under medical care as of February 19.

Delta’s CEO, Ed Bastian, expressed his concern over the accident and praised the crew’s swift evacuation efforts. The airline is also assisting affected passengers with accommodations, meals, transportation, and luggage retrieval.

The Transportation Safety Board of Canada is currently investigating the cause of the crash, with weather conditions being a potential factor. Toronto Pearson International Airport experienced abnormal snowfall during the time of the incident.
