Nigerian actor-turned-politician Desmond Elliot has spoken out against allegations of involvement in same-sex relationships, labeling them as unfounded and malicious.

In a TVC interview, Elliot expressed his focus on politics and serving his constituents, rather than engaging with unverified claims.

“I don’t need to respond to baseless allegations,” Elliot stated. “As long as I’m positively impacting lives, that’s what truly matters.”

Regarding his sexual orientation, Elliot clarified, “I am straight.”

Elliot’s response coincides with growing concerns in Nigeria about the spread of misinformation and character attacks on social media. He joins a chorus of public figures advocating for responsible online engagement and verification of information.
