Former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, has dismissed rumors of his defection from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

A close aide to El-Rufai refuted the claims in a conversation with Channels Television on Sunday, describing them as the work of mischief-makers. The aide added that it was inconceivable for the former governor to switch parties without making an official announcement.

El-Rufai also addressed the rumors on his verified X handle, urging the public to disregard them. He confirmed that he has instructed his lawyers to take legal action against those spreading the false claims.

“Please disregard the patent lies and rumours about my political affiliation. I have referred the lead peddlers of the fake news for further action by my lawyers,” El-Rufai stated.
