Elon Musk vows to donate $45m monthly to support Trump’s reelection campaign following assassination attempt
The CEO of Tesla motors and founder of X Elon Musk has announced plans to donate $45 million a month to a new super political-action committee (PAC) supporting former President Donald Trump’s 2024 reelection campaign.
The Tesla and SpaceX founder indicated that his contributions to the America PAC would commence in July, according to a report by the Wall Street Journal.
Despite Musk’s intentions, he was notably absent from a Monday filing by the America PAC, which has already raised over $8 million.
The super PAC, established in late May, has attracted significant donations from other prominent figures in the tech industry.
Palantir co-founder Joe Lonsdale contributed $1 million through Lonsdale Enterprises, while crypto billionaires Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss each donated $250,000.
Elon Musk’s involvement marks him as the only Fortune 100 CEO to fully endorse a candidate in the upcoming presidential race.
His endorsement follows a recent assassination attempt at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, where he expressed his support for Trump’s recovery on X (formerly Twitter).
“I fully endorse President Trump and hope for his rapid recovery,” Elon Musk tweeted, sharing a video of the incident.
