England have defeated co-host Australia 3-1 to reach the final of the FIFA Women’s World Cup for the first time ever.
England took the lead in the first half through Ella Toone, only for Sam Kerr to equalize with a 25-yard strike just after the hour, before Lauren Hemp and Alessia Russo scored to secure the win for the Lionesses.

Australia were backed by a vast majority of the 75,000 fans at the Stadium Australia in Sydney, but the partisan crowd did not faze the Lionesses who have now secured a World Cup final berth, after losing at the semi-final stage in the last 2 tournaments.
With the result, Australia will take on Sweden in the Third Place Playoff on Saturday, while England will square up against Spain in the final on Sunday.
