Equatorial Guinea Sex Scandal Deepens as Woman Linked to Leaked Videos Reportedly Commits Suicide

In a troubling development related to the ongoing sex scandal in Equatorial Guinea, a woman allegedly featured in explicit videos involving high-profile individuals has reportedly taken her own life. It is believed that she was overwhelmed by the widespread dissemination of the footage, which has gone viral and generated significant media attention.

The scandal began when Baltasar Engonga, the Director General of the National Financial Investigation Agency, was arrested on charges of misconduct, including the alleged recording of over 400 videos involving the wives of prominent figures in the country. These videos surfaced during a broader investigation into fraud and reportedly depict intimate encounters with influential individuals.

This incident has prompted public outcry, with many calling for stronger measures to safeguard the privacy and dignity of those impacted by the leaked content. In response, officials in Equatorial Guinea are reportedly working to manage the scandal’s repercussions while continuing their investigation.

Engonga, 54, was taken into custody following a probe into fraudulent activities that led to an unannounced search of his home and office, where authorities discovered numerous CDs containing recordings of his alleged encounters.

The tapes are said to include interactions with relatives and wives of government officials, including the sister of the President, the wife of the Director General of Police, and spouses of approximately 20 ministers.
