Bayer 04 Leverkusen is delighted to announce the appointment of Erik ten Hag as the club’s new head coach. The Dutch tactician has signed a contract that will keep him at the helm until June 2027, following the departure of Xabi Alonso, who led the club to domestic success before moving on.
Ten Hag, widely regarded for his tactical acumen and leadership, brings a wealth of experience to the Bundesliga side. Having previously managed Manchester United and Ajax, he has a proven track record of developing teams into formidable contenders on both domestic and European stages.
“We are thrilled to welcome Erik ten Hag to Bayer Leverkusen,” said Simon Rolfes, the club’s sporting director. “His vision for the game aligns perfectly with our ambitions. With his expertise, we aim to continue our progress and compete at the highest level in the Bundesliga, DFB-Pokal, and Champions League.”
Ten Hag expressed his enthusiasm for the new challenge, stating, “Leverkusen is one of the best clubs in Germany and among the European elite. I am excited to build on the club’s recent successes and develop an ambitious team that can challenge for top honors.”
