Evangelist Ebuka Obi of Zion Prayer Movement Outreach has strongly denied any connection to the woman who recently caused a stir in his church by claiming she had built a ₦500 million mansion.
The woman, in a viral video, testified in his church that she had completed a luxurious mansion in Lekki, Lagos. However, investigations later revealed she actually resides in Enugu State, casting serious doubts on her claims.
The revelation sparked outrage, with citizens who recognized her from the video confronting her and demanding an explanation for the false testimony. The incident also raised broader concerns about the authenticity of testimonies given in churches.
Amid the backlash, Evangelist Ebuka Obi took to social media to distance himself from the woman, accusing her of lying against God and his ministry. He emphasized that he has no personal ties to her and insisted she was just one of many individuals who come to his church to share testimonies.
“I said it last month that my name would be all over the media. I said the media would be shaking, making it look real, but it’s all fake,” Obi stated.
“I heard from clergymen in the East that bloggers were sponsored. Now, do I know her? Does any member know her? She came to testify, just like hundreds of others who come here daily. If the house she claimed to own is fake, then it is her who lied before God and His altar — not the ministry.”
The controversy has continued to generate discussions online, with many questioning the credibility of testimonies shared in religious gatherings.
