Nigerian sprinter Favour Ofili was visibly moved to tears after finishing sixth in the women’s 200m final at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Despite qualifying for the final with the third-best time in the semi-finals, Ofili narrowly missed securing a top-three spot, clocking in at 22.24 seconds.

The disappointment was palpable as Ofili broke down in tears, her emotions a testament to her dedication and passion for the sport.

Nevertheless, her achievement marks a significant milestone, as she becomes the first Nigerian to compete in the 200m final since Mary Onyali in Atlanta ’96.
