The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has stated it is neither aware of nor investigating the alleged disappearance of ₦180 million from the account of a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) owned by social media commentator Martins Otse, popularly known as Very Dark Man (VDM).

Speaking on Saturday, FCT Police Command spokesperson Josephine Adeh clarified that the command has no knowledge of the incident.

“The FCT Police Command is not aware of any case involving VDM’s missing funds and is not conducting any investigation into it. The individual in question should clarify where the matter was reported, as there is no record of such a case with the FCT Police Command,” she said.

VDM had earlier alleged in an Instagram video that ₦180 million was fraudulently transferred from his NGO’s account to an unknown recipient, leaving only ₦20 million. He claimed that one suspect had been arrested and that efforts were underway to recover the funds.

Despite his claims, some have expressed skepticism, questioning the credibility of his explanation.

Efforts to reach Force Public Relations Officer Muyiwa Adejobi for comments were unsuccessful, as calls to his phone went unanswered, and he had not responded to messages at the time of filing this report.
