Federal Government Releases Funds for NASU Salaries and Pensioner Benefits

The Federal Government has allocated funds to settle outstanding salaries for members of the Non-Academic Staff Union of Federal Universities (NASU) and to provide benefits for retirees under the Nigerian Union of Pensioners Contributory Pension Scheme.

This was announced in a statement on Saturday by Bawa Mokwa, Director of Press and Public Relations at the Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation.

Mokwa indicated that payments to NASU members are already underway, with many reporting that they have received their funds.

ā€œThe Federal Government has released funds to address the withheld salaries of NASU members,ā€ the statement noted.

ā€œAdditionally, funds have been allocated for benefits to retirees under the Nigerian Union of Pensioners Contributory Pension Scheme. Payments to the Non-Academic Staff of Federal Universities have started, and many have confirmed receipt.ā€
