The Federal Government has announced plans to sell 753 housing units recovered from former Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor Godwin Emefiele, making them available to Nigerians in line with its commitment to transparency and accountability.

Minister Dangiwa confirmed that technical assessments, including structural integrity tests, would commence immediately to ensure the units meet required safety and habitation standards. Once the inspection process is complete, the buildings will be finalized and listed for sale via the Renewed Hope Portal, providing Nigerians with the opportunity to acquire quality housing under fair and transparent conditions.

This was disclosed by the Federal Ministry of Housing and Urban Development following a site inspection led by Minister Ahmed Dangiwa and Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) Chairman Olanipekun Olukoyede. The estate, initially recovered by the EFCC in December 2024, was officially handed over to the Ministry in accordance with the directive of President Bola Tinubu.

Reaffirming the government’s dedication to accountability, Dangiwa emphasized that this process underscores its commitment to ensuring recovered assets are properly reintegrated into the economy for public benefit. He also issued a stern warning to public officials against corrupt practices, reiterating that such conduct would not be tolerated.
