Nigeria’s men’s national team, the Super Eagles have dropped two places in the latest FIFA rankings, from 28th in the February rankings to 30th in the March rankings.

The drop in the latest rankings published on April 4, 2024, comes after the team’s mixed results in last month’s international break. Nigeria had defeated Ghana 2-1, before losing 2-0 to Mali a few days later in international friendly matches.

However, despite dropping two spots in the global rankings, the Super Eagles remain third in Africa behind Morocco (13th) and Senegal (17th). Egypt (37th), and defending AFCON champions Cote d’Ivoire (38th) complete the top five ranked teams on the continent.

In the world rankings, 2022 FIFA World Cup Champions Argentina remain the number one ranked nation, followed by France, Belgium, England and Brazil.  Portugal, The Netherlands, Spain, Italy and Croatia complete the global top ten.

After the next men’s international break, the next FIFA ranking update will be released on June 20.
