Former Kogi Deputy Speaker Enema Paul Dies After Illness

Hon. Enema Paul, the former Deputy Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly, has died.

Reports indicate that the lawmaker passed away early Saturday morning at a private hospital in Abuja after battling an undisclosed illness.

Hon. Paul, who represented the Okura State Constituency in Kogi State’s 8th Assembly, had stepped down as Deputy Speaker due to health challenges. He was succeeded by Hon. Comfort Ojoma Nwuchiola of the Ibaji State Constituency.

Reacting to the news, the Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Aliyu Umar Yusuf, expressed his condolences to the late lawmaker’s family.

In a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Yabagi Mohammed, Rt. Hon. Yusuf described Hon. Enema Paul as a humble and dedicated legislator committed to teamwork and the unity of Kogi State. He praised Paul’s focus on people-centered legislation that promoted development and growth.

The Speaker also highlighted Paul’s devotion to Christianity, strong family values, and his ability to unite people across religious divides through his service and leadership.

Rt. Hon. Yusuf concluded by praying for strength for Hon. Paul’s family and for members of the Assembly as they mourn the loss of a committed public servant.
