Former Senate Majority Leader Jonathan Zwingina Passes Away at 70

Reports have emerged that Jonathan Zwingina, a veteran Nigerian politician and former Senate Majority Leader, has died at the age of 70.

Although his family has not officially confirmed his passing, Leadership Newspaper cites sources indicating that he passed away on Wednesday, October 2, in Abuja.

Zwingina had a distinguished career in politics, notably representing Adamawa South Senatorial District in the Senate. He was a founding member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) before joining the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Some of his notable roles and achievements include:

– Former Senate Majority Leader

– Representative of Adamawa South Senatorial District

– Founding member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)

– Member of the All Progressives Congress (APC)

– Director-General of the MKO Abiola campaign Organisation for the June 12, 1993 presidential election
