Darius Ishaku, former governor of Taraba State, has been arrested and detained by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) due to allegations of N27 billion fraud.

The EFCC apprehended Ishaku at his Abuja residence on Friday.

Reports indicate that Ishaku will face multiple charges related to financial irregularities during his tenure as governor from 2015 to 2021.

EFCC spokesperson Dele Oyewale confirmed the arrest but declined additional comment.

This development follows ongoing tensions between the EFCC and former Kogi State governor Yahaya Bello, who faces allegations of N80.2 billion embezzlement.
