Former UK Prime Minister David Cameron has made a surprise return to politics after he was appointed Foreign Secretary in a cabinet reshuffle of Prime Minister Rishi Sunak.

Cameron, who was Britain’s leader from 2010 to 2016, replaces James Cleverly. He will be made a life peer in the House of Lords, Britain’s upper chamber of parliament, meaning that he can sit in government.

Meanwhile, James Cleverly was appointed as Home Secretary, replacing Suella Braverman.

The changes are part of Prime Minister Sunak’s first major reshuffle of his top ministers since becoming the country’s leader in October last year.
