Nigerian actor Gbenro Ajibade has officially become a citizen of the United States, a milestone he proudly shared on social media.

On Thursday, February 20, 2025, the former Tinsel star took to Instagram to announce his new status after spending several years in the US. Ajibade, who was previously married to actress Osas Ighodaro, posted photos of himself at the US Department of Homeland Security, where he completed his citizenship process.

In one of the images, he held a flyer that read, “Congratulations on becoming a US citizen,” while also waving an American flag.

Expressing gratitude in his caption, the actor simply wrote, “God did it.”

News of Ajibade’s US citizenship sparked mixed reactions among Nigerians. While many congratulated him on the achievement, especially under Donald Trump’s presidency, others felt it was a private matter. Some also speculated that his ex-wife, Osas Ighodaro, played a role in securing his new status.
