Laolu Gbenjo, a gospel artist, shared his perspective on music genres in a recent interview. He believes that having only gospel music would make the world a dull place, highlighting the need for diverse genres to match different occasions.

Gbenjo explained that various genres evoke different emotions and are suited for various events, like love songs for weddings and praise songs for celebrations. He thinks this diversity brings balance and enhances experiences.

He stated, “If everyone sang gospel, the world would be boring. It’s true. You wouldn’t expect me to sing gospel at a wedding, there are love songs and celebration praise. It’s a celebration.”

Gbenjo also mentioned that his father, a pastor, inspired him to start singing. “I began singing because my father was a pastor,” he said.
